Cygnet amphibious trike system with Krucker Floats

This two person amphibious trike system is FAA certified as an N-numbered Light Sport Aircraft (LSA). It is available with the 65 hp Rotax 582 or 80 hp Rotax 912 engine. The Explorer, a smaller single place version of this amphibious trike does not require a license for operation.

The design of the Krucker Cygnet has been refined each year since its introduction nine years ago at Sun n Fun. The 2010 version comes with a fairing and windshield, custom instrument panel, custom seat cushions and saddle bags, rear suspension for extreme terrain and rough landings, and a stronger front spreader bar for maximum durability and strength.

The Krucker amphibious float system is designed specifically for trikes. The step is much further forward than conventional floats. This makes take offs possible in less than 5 seconds using a 582 Rotax engine, and even less with a Rotax 912.

The floats are produced from 5052 aluminium the same as that used in aluminium boat construction. They are designed to withstand daily salt-water use, and have four air-tight seamless chambers, and cross bracing.

In flight the floats fly with a 2 degree angle of attack which decreases drag and allows the trike to fly virtually the same as it would if equipped with wheels only. Water rudders operated by cables are also included with the floats.

These amphibious trikes are outfitted with retractable wheels for easy retraction and extension in flight. Drive right into the water on your wheels, retract them and take off on floats. Back at the boat ramp or beach, lower the wheels and drive up the ramp or beach onto the trailer, hangar or garage.
