We provide training, sales and service in powered paragliding (paramotor), powered hang glider trikes, and amphibious ultralights. We give introductory flight lessons in our tandem powered paragliders and amphibious trikes. We can provide everything from a single orientation flight to a Private Pilot license with Land or Sea rating.
We started XLFLYING in 2001 as a sister company to XLKITES Kiteboarding. Founder Michael Percy had been hang gliding since 1990. With XLKITES running successfully, the time was right to begin offering flight training to XLKITES customers. Over the years XLKITES has produced its own innovative designs for paramotor frames (Sky Cruiser), tandem powered paragliding harnesses, and custom PPG trikes.
We now assemble amphibious ultralights that fly under the sport pilot certification. Our unique flying machines use Rotax engines and a float and trike combination imported from Canada with a reliable North wing.
We also sell a full line of Northwing Trikes and wings, as well as Rotax engines, parts and supplies. We love flying and put our passion into our buisness.

To fly a true ultralight, you do not need a license. To be legal, the ultralight must meet the criteria specified in Part 103 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. If it does not meet these criteria, you need a license to fly it.
WHAT ARE THE ULTRALIGHT CRITERIA?
The main ones are: One-person only. 254 pound maximum weight, plus a special allowance for floats and safety devices. Five gallons of fuel maximum.
